VICTOR SIMONELLI

NOW AND THEN

Article and interview by Gareth Morgan

There are a group of producers today in house music, who can all say they were one of the original pioneers of the scene. They were creating house tracks in New York City, whilst I was still at school in the late eighties. These same pioneers became some of the biggest DJ's also and one such man is Victor Simonelli.

For anyone unsure about Victor's productions, just look at classic tracks like Cloud Nine's 'Do You Want Me' and Solution's 'Feels So Right', just to name a couple. Victor was responsible for both of these, back when soulful house was called Garage and when records were selling like hot cakes!

Victor is still heavily involved in music, and when he isn't DJ'ing all over the world, or making music in one of his American or European studios, he's busy running several companies all under his banner of VJS Industries. This is one busy man, so it is with gratitude souledUp were able to catch up with Victor and ask him some questions. souledUp
