FIRECRACKER

Five years ago, I happened to find myself in one of my favourite record shops in London, Vinyl Junkies. I get scared going into VJ's, because invariably I would always leave with a lot more bags than I entered with, yet with far less cash than I entered with. It was like a kind of karma feng shui!

VJ's are famous for their music, not just the normal soulful kind of house, but also more obsure music like Carl Craig and Moodyman 10 inches. These sorts of records are highly collectable, so when I spotted the first Firecracker EP in the racks, I thought it would be the same ilk. But I was wrong. As much as I am a fan of Carl Craig and Moodyman, I'm still a fan of a vocal track so when I heard 'Miles Away', the first track from Firecracker EP01, I was completely blown away. The fact I had it in my hand to listen to as it was being played in the shop, is another story!

Firecracker are a collective hailing mainly from Edinburgh, but now with international ties too and making some seriously damn good dance music. Without further ado, souledUp present Firecracker:
