BACKGROUND NOISE

Reviewed by Gareth Morgan

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of the Nu Jazz sound and much slower tempo stuff. In some cases, I prefer some of these tracks to the soulful house sound that souledUp is predominantly about.

Background Noise is one such track, and after five years in the making, you'd expect something good.....and good this is dear readers!

The promo pack comes with four mixes, one of them being a more uptempo 'housier' version, but for me the original is unbeatable. It's slow, at a guess I'd say around 80-85 BPM, but is one of the sexiest tracks I have been sent in a long

while. Starting off with a kind of seventies funk bassline, the simply wonderful song reaches it's crescendo with a heart warming, soul drinking chorus that is deadlier than a fire in a gunpowder factory.

It is a brilliant, brilliant piece of music, and has a very addictive personality. Believe me, you'll be listening to this on repeat over and over again.

Think Young Disciples, think Incognito, think Loose Ends, this is a sublime release. We love it!
