Rass Out EP
Danny Yorke is a certifiable lunatic. How's that to start a track review?! I got in touch with Danny through the boys at Souled, and he is such a down to earth and funny guy, it would be all too easy to forget to mention the music he has been putting out.
But the music it's all about, and Danny or Altered Natives as his musical name reads, is going to be making some huge waves in dance music in 2009.
Altered Natives sent me a copy of their album, and it is an absolute corker, but you can read about that in the coming weeks. Right now, it's all about his Rass Out EP.
Featuring two tracks; 'Rass Out' and 'Bullet Blade Knuckle Slap' this is a great little EP, with a further remix of the latter track courtesy of Souled.
Rass Out is a chunky house number, with a lovely sax sample and more mad things going on in the background than a politicians life!
Bullet Blade Knuckle Slap is a far techier / broken affair using some of the same elements of Rass Out, whilst the remix is another superb take. Think ANALOGUE on both of these mixes! Good stuff!
