FIREFLIES

Reviewed by Gareth Morgan

New Australian digital label 'Brain Kat', announce their emergence into dance music with one hell of a good release, 'Fireflies.'

Fireflies is the result of Nica Brooke's wonderfully soothing vocals, and Ollie Brooke's telling writing and production skills and is a beast of a tune!

There are 10 very different mixes of the track, and they have been sensibly split into two parts available to buy within three weeks of each other. We're just going to concentrate on part one in this review, and our two favourite mixes of the whole package; Vincent Kwock's and the UK boys Mystery and Matt Early.

Vincent Kwock delivers a killer mix, it's a slab of wonderfully addicitive, pure, unadulterated house music. The bassline, stabs and vocal all carry the track into the sunset, and this mix sounds brilliant when played loudly, wait and see!

Mystery and Matt Eary deliver two mixes in the soulful house and broken genres that are both really good. However, the broken mix tips it for me. Think sunshine, happiness, head nodding, feet tapping broken beautifullness! Superb remix!

Brilliant track, available to buy here.
